No squeezing, no pinching, no three-finger manipulations. The Trackpad pops up when you need it. It gives you a scaled view of where you are writing so you can see what you're doing and write tiny without having to stick your nose on the iPad.
The trackpad is a convenient way to write tiny on the page without having to try to control precise movements of your finger. Instead, it provides with with a magnified view of the area where you are writing so that it is more forgiving to imprecisions.
In addition, the trackpad can auto-advance so that when you reach the end of the magnified area, a replicate is overlaid on the opposite side so that you can keep on writing. Once you start writing on the shaded overlaid copy, it becomes the active view and the trackpad auto-advances so that you never need to move it yourself or pause while you wait for it to move. This allows for continuous writing, which is ideal for note taking during class or meetings.
Not all languages are written left-to-right. In a lot of cultures, text is written right-to-left. In order to support users writing in Arabic, Hebrew and other right-to-left languages, Ghostwriter Notes supports auto-advancing in the appropriate direction automatically.
Hot zone auto-advance is an alternative algorithm for auto-advancing for those who don't like the replicated view. Instead of copying the shaded area, it detects that you are reaching the end of screen and lets you know by showing a red hot zone. If you let go of the screen while in that zone, the track pad will auto-advance after a few milliseconds.
